PATH / PASSAGE / PLACE - SPRING 2016

[Foam Core ; Acetate ; Marker ; Stick ; Wood ; Bristol Vellum ; Graphite ; Watercolor ; Colored Pencil ; Magazine Clippings]

My first project of my second semester was perhaps my first introduction to designing something for the built environment.  My goal for this project was to create a space where someone could 1) simply pass through the building to the other side of the lot, 2) explore the path to the roof, or 3) spend time admiring the stained glass fixture and fountain.  I wanted to create an "experience" that could be admired by anyone who chooses to use the space - whether or not they are there for thirty seconds or an hour.  The hanging stained glass sculpture reaches to the ground floor, urging people to explore the building more.  The soft color from this glass adds to the atmosphere of wonder.
