OCEAN PARK NO. 32 + STUDENT HOUSING - SPRING 2016

[Bristol Vellum ; Wood ; Foam Core ; Stick ; Acetate ; Watercolor ; Graphite ; Sharpie]

This project began by recreating a Diebenkorn piece (mine was Ocean Park No. 32) using watercolor.  This painting was then translated into three dimensions, and the elements were then translated into a student housing project.  I focused on the intersecting/overlapping levels and transparency to create an open yet private space for the tenant.

Another important aspect to this project was that we were to limit the use of glue to only what would hold the project together.  Therefore, I carefully cut, notched, and slit Foam Core to hold almost all of the other elements in place.
